If you crimp heavy parts, grease more often. Daily maintenance: clean the master dies and die sets daily, or when they look dirty. You can use a brush (e.g. old teeth brush) to get the dirt out. In P-models, keep the hole under the crimping head open, so the dirty grease can run out. For more detailed information, please contact our distributor. NOTE: Do not use air pressure for cleaning!   How to use QC-tool? You need to close the dies completely to get the tool in and out. For more details, please look at the operating instructions, or contact our distributor.   What kind of oil should I use? You need to use hydraulic oil. For indoor conditions we recommend viscosity 46, and for outdoor conditions our recommendation is viscosity 32 or 46, depending on the temperature.   What kind of grease can I use for my Finn-Power crimping machine? We recommend that you use the special Finn-Power Grease when doing maintenance, service or overhauling for your Finn-Power crimping machines. Several different kinds of grease have been tested in our laboratory, and the experiments have shown that the grease chosen as the Finn-Power Grease is the most suitable one for Finn-Power crimping machines. Finn-Power Grease can be ordered from your local Finn-Power distributor.   How can I get dies with special size or special shape? We offer special dies according your drawings. We can also assist you in making the drawings. Please contact our distributor or us for further information.   When is it necessary to recalibrate the control? Recalibration is only needed if the control, measurement element or large mechanical parts have been disconnected or replaced. Also after several years of use it might be necessary to recalibrate the control. To get instructions for calibration, please contact our distributor or directly us. Note: the serial number of the crimping machine is needed to identify your machine.   Why lubricated sliding plates? - The accuracy of the machine stays optimized. - Friction between the sliding elements decreases. - Greasing gives rust protection. - Sliding plates can be made of steal which is very steady. - Sliding plates do not wear and tear, the need for replacing is minimal. - No need to recalibrate the control, because the parts will last longer. - Greasing keeps the sliding elements clean by keeping the particles       apart from the surface. - Greasing saves energy.
